Isle of Wight

A collaboration with architect owner Jackie Ballhatchet on her holiday home on the Isle of Wight. The house is only a few minutes’ walk from the beach so we leant into the coastal climate (including the fierce wind) and selected a palette of plants that would revel in such harsh conditions. And as I am always keen to do, we brought the planting as close to the house as possible. This not only composes a beautiful view from that gorgeous open plan living room and kitchen, but also creates a sense of mystery, pulling us out to the garden to discover what’s beyond.
