Collaboration with Dutch Landscape Architects on the detailed planting design for an urban commercial/public realm project. This is Abbey Quay in Barking, East London for Weston Homes. Verdant textured street planting in the shadows of the surrounding buildings with drought tolerant planting in the very different hot and sunny conditions of a podium roof garden. Working with Waltham Forest Council and architects Feix&Merlin to reimagine an existing space in Walthamstow: Courtenay Place by St James Street station. Our aim is to develop a green link between St James Street Station and Walthamstow High Street, including a new square, opening of existing railway arches (designed by Extended Studio), and improvements to the public space such as rain gardens, widening of pavements, better signage and improved lighting. The project is part of a wider UK Government Funded Programme (formally Levelling Up) of investment to help make Waltham Forest a more welcoming cultural destination. Image by Feix&Merlin.
Collaboration with London-based architects Studio Grieveson on planting design to wrap a basement extension, internal courtyard and natural swimming pool. Planting on the slope down to the basement extension begins in autumn 2024, focusing on jewel-like colour and texture-rich planting viewable from the new living room and a simpler and calmer palette in the internal courtyard. Development of a foraging area and gravel planting up to the natural swimming pool to follow. Image by Studio Grieveson.
